The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support course provides students the skills and knowledge required in the community services industry to complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services where they take responsibility for their individual outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. This course contains 18 units (15 core and 3 electives) and covers the following themes;

The course duration typically takes 28 weeks.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, you should have;

  • Completed at least Year 12 from an Australian secondary school or overseas equivalent

OR

Proof of equivalent competency in core skills to a level appropriate for the course being applied for

  • English Language Proficiency: Academic IELTS 5.5 overall band score (no individual band less than 5.0)
  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (recommended but not compulsory)
  • Successful completion of a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment
  • Working with Children Check and Police Clearance (Blue Card – link to website)
  • A good level of physical fitness

Delivery Method

The Certificate IV in Ageing Support course is delivered through face-to-face study, where students will be assigned a Trainer/Assessor who supports them throughout their learning and assesses their level of competency in each unit. These classes are also combined with practical assessments that are undertaken in an actual work environment.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) / Credit Transfer (CT)

Have industry experience but no formal qualification? Concerned about spending valuable time on a course to gain skills and knowledge you already possess?

Our friendly staff will guide you through the RPL/CT process and collect the evidence needed to support your application. We issue applicants RPL/CT documentation requesting specific information relating to acquired skills and knowledge achieved within the past five years. An interview process and practical skills assessment will then be conducted if required.
