We want you to complete your studies feeling confident in your ability to start you career in the childcare industry. Our Trainers/Assessors have industry experience as early childcare workers and Centre Directors. Our training facility resembles a typical early childcare classroom, where you can learn to facilitate play-based learning.

The CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care course provides students the skills and knowledge required to be responsible in supervising others in an early childhood education and care environment. This course contains 28 units (23 core and 5 electives) and covers the following themes;

  • Providing Care for Children
  • Foster Children’s Learning and Development
  • Self-Management and Risk
  • Legislation and Diversity
  • First Aid

Duration

The expected duration for CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is 24 months (depending on the student’s previous learning, experience, and employment status).

Entry Requirements

You must have;

  • Completed at least Year 12 from an Australian secondary school or overseas equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment
  • Working with Children Check and Police Clearance – Blue Card
  • A good level of physical fitness

Delivery Method

The CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care course is delivered through a blended learning experience with students assigned a Trainer/Assessor who will conduct regular face-to-face classes. These classes are then combined with both online components and practical assessment that is undertaken in an actual work environment. This blended method delivery allows our Trainer/Assessor to not only support the student through their learning but assess them to determine their level of competency in each unit.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) / Credit Transfer (CT)

Have industry experience but no formal qualification? Concerned about spending valuable time on a course to gain skills and knowledge you already possess?

Our friendly staff will guide you through the RPL/CT process and collect the evidence needed to support your application. We issue applicants RPL/CT documentation requesting specific information relating to acquired skills and knowledge achieved within the past five years. An interview process and practical skills assessment will then be conducted if required.
